Cashmere

I am a cashmere a holic.  I need a twelve step program!!  My latest cashmere love are ponchos.  They are versatile and keep you at just the right temperature.  Now that I live in an apartment I don't need to cover up as much as I did in my house so they are perfect.  They come in all colors and price ranges and make the perfect gift.  Have you purchased these??

Etiquette

I am guilty as charged. I text people instead of calling them. However yesterday I was informed of a death by text. My old neighbor (from childhood) passed away at the old age of 87. Shirley and I were always close and remained so until her death. Unfortunately she moved to North Jersey and I had not been able to see her for awhile. Am I too sensitive or is too much to ask that someone call you to relay that someone has died?

Pain Management

My recovery has been going much better this time around than it did in February.  I had a thoracotomy which is very painful. However, I am allergic to narcotics.  It is very difficult to recover from this type of surgery without narcotics.  I am blessed that my Dr's found some alternatives for me which seem to be doing the trick. It  is very important to discuss pain management with your
Doctor prior to surgery. That way your treatment plan will be in place as soon as you wake up in the recovery room.

I am a shoe lover. I must say that my favorite year round shoes are  Tieks.  They are available by mail order only. They come in a variety of colors and prints and are supple and  comfortable. They are my go to shoe for all seasons.  Are you a Tieks lover. Please share. I cannot wait to hear your comments,

I am happy to report that I am home and recovering well from surgery.  I got wonderful care and lots of support from family and friends.  I am progressing well and getting better everyday!

I am busy perusing the fall catalogues and am ready to post my fall faves in the next few days

Stress

Life has been so crazy!!  I am preparing for major surgery on Tuesday. My help that I hired fell through. I got new help.  A good friend is in the hospital.  I am very stressed and cannot seem to relax.  Ugh

End of Summer Tote

For those who know me from my previous blog (which got deleted and I could not recover) you know that I adore totes.  I fell in love with totes my freshman year at  Skidmore College in 1976 and I am still in love.  This field bag from Utility Canvas is a winner. I am a sucker for end of season sales.  J. McLaughlin is one of my favorite stores for end of season sales.   I picked up this caftan today. It will be perfect for my recovery and for upcoming vacations. What's your favorite go to end of season sale store?

I am finally back to blogging. After having my former blog disappear and not being able to retrieve it I was frustrated to say the least!!  I have made the commitment to get back to blogging and I could not be more excited.

The last year has been a blur. I had major surgery (thoracotomy) in February for a paralyzed diaphragam and phrenic nerve.  It was not successful and has to be redone on September 6th.  I will be out of work for six to eight weeks.  I cannot wait until it is over.

I am enjoying apartment living and have made some very good friends where I am living.  I hope that you will join me as I work, recuperate, travel and play.
